Closure of Wimberly and Centennial

Abby Deyo and Allen Hill

In the short time since our last message was sent, we have new developments to share.

Just after 4 p.m. today, the leadership team learned from an employee of the university that a member of their household has tested positive for COVID-19. We have been in contact with that individual to gather information, share our gratitude for their open communication, and offer our concern for their well-being. Their household is currently under home quarantine, though, we are happy to hear the symptoms are mild.

In light of this new information, we have activated our COVID-19 Pandemic Response Plan at a level 3. This triggers the need to keep Wimberly and Centennial Halls closed for cleaning as a precautionary measure. We are working with the La Crosse County Health Department to ensure we are following all recommended protocols.

If you were planning to access Wimberly or Centennial Halls tomorrow to gather items for remote work, we ask that you postpone those plans to Monday, March 23.

We are working hard to keep the campus community informed with such rapidly changing information. However, we understand the inconvenience and challenges this presents. Thank you for your continued support and patience.
