Another victory for title town!

“Aaron Rodgers stinks.” “What are the credentials for this survey?” “How in the world do they calculate best fans?”

With the regular NFL season now underway, Forbes recently published an article presenting why the fans of the Green Bay Packers are the best fans in all of sports. Title Town USA, yet again, brings home another title.      As many know, the cheese heads are not particularly favored amongst other teams for obvious reasons, including the Packer’s NFL record of 13 championships, amongst other factors.

When walking into class on game day, it’s rare not to see at least five Packer jerseys per classroom. It’s nice for a guy like me since it gives me a few more people to say hi too! However, there are always a few debbie downers who have yet to see the light of day.

UW- La Crosse junior Hayden Cleary, a Pittsburgh Steelers diehard fan, believes that the results of Forbes survey were rigged.

“I don’t even understand. This is just so stupid. Aaron Rodgers needs to grow a pair,” Cleary explained.

It was difficult for me to bite my tongue during the interview, being a diehard Packer fan. The interview continued, and Cleary could not present evidence as to why the Packers were so bad, in her eyes. Cleary even mentioned something about a “terrible towel.” I can’t imagine a towel being that scary. Things started to get personal. To say the least, I am glad that I made it out alive.

After managing to survive the first interview, it was a pleasure to interview a diehard Packer fan like myself. Matthew Donohue, a Packer fan his whole life, felt that the article could not have been more true.

“Think about it. How many fans are willing to go to games in the Frozen Tundra with it being -20 degrees? It sure won’t be like those fans over in Minnesota who got a nice roof over their heads all the time,” said Donohue.

Overall, I couldn’t agree more with Donohue. The Packer’s fans are willing to go above and beyond their duty just to watch their team play. In my opinion, I think one of the coolest places to go would be to visit Lambeau field, just to understand the history and pure awesomeness of the Packers.

Even if you are not a fan of the Packers, the fans will embrace you and take you in as one of their own. If there is snow outside, there’s a high chance of a few snowballs being thrown your way when you are walking to your seat. But other than that, if you’re here just to enjoy the game, there will be no problems.

With the Packers loss of their first game Thursday, it stings a little bit to wake up in the morning.  However, us Packer’s fans will always be behind our team through thick and thin. We will always be willing to go to games and support our team. We will always be cheese heads for life, and no one can tell us different.
