It is time to protect reproductive freedom in Wisconsin.

The harm caused by Wisconsin’s 173-year-old criminal abortion ban that is blocking pregnant people from accessing lifesaving care, forcing them to travel across state lines or remain pregnant against their will – is unimaginable. Both Republican candidates for Governor and Attorney General, Tim Michels and Eric Toney, support Wisconsin’s criminal abortion ban and if elected will work to pass additional restrictions on our freedom and health care access.

Deciding if and when to become a parent is one of the most personal, life-changing decisions people will make – no one can or should make that decision for you. Nobody should be forced to carry a pregnancy or give birth before they are ready to have a child. You should have the freedom to control your own bodies and lives. We all deserve the ability to access the health care we need.

Criminalizing abortion in Wisconsin is not the future we want for ourselves, our family members, or our loved ones. Governor Tony Evers and Attorney General Josh Kaul believe health care decisions should be left to a woman in consultation with her doctor, her family, and her faith – not politicians.

It’s up to us to fight back to restore our freedom and protect our health and lives. On Tuesday, November 8, we can take back our control by getting out to vote for candidates who will fight with us to protect our health and rights.
