Brandon Meyer, a Technical Support Consultant at UWL, recently became a quarterfinalist in the Supreme Sneakerhead contest. The winner of the contest will receive $10,000 and a trip to Los Angeles, where they will design a pair of custom shoes with The Shoe Surgeon. To win the contest, supporters can vote for free each day or add additional votes for $0.50.
All proceeds from the additional votes are donated to Oceana in its commitment to achieving healthy and abundant oceans.
The Racquet Press interviewed Meyer to learn more about the contest and what he would do if he won.
Meyer said, “If I win $10,000 I am going to give $1,000 back to the charity [Oceana] because I don’t think I will ever have that kind of opportunity to give an amount that I think will really make a difference.”
When asked about the other $9,000, Meyer said, “As a divorced dad with two kids there are debts and such that it would be nice to try and knock down to make our lives more financially stable… just to give our kids a foothold and to not have as much to worry about in terms of debt.”
Meyer then spoke about his ideas for his potential design with The Shoe Surgeon. He said, “Since I am a millennial and there are plenty of shoe ideas that I ran across growing up that I thought were really cool. I would definitely want to throwback to anything from the ’80s or the ’90s. Just neon flared colors, bringing pumps back or other fun gimmicks.”
You can vote for Meyer on the Supreme Sneakerhead website until Dec. 14 at 10 p.m.
