Less than a month left of school. Classes are going to pick in the amount of studying, writing and test taking that needs to be done, then comes the finals obstacle before summer. After that is the magical time where there is suddenly free time, and more expendable income because of having more time to work. In this wonderful time period, there are many ways you can treat yourself, including going to the movies. Summer can be the brief snippet of time when you actually know what is playing theaters without having to google it. Ever more amazing is the ability to catch up on favorite characters and story lines in the sequels.

Here are the sequels to look out for this summer:

If action/adventure is not your thing, there are some comedies coming out off of very successful comedy franchises coming out with sequels. Ghostbusters should be particularly interesting with a lead female cast including Melissa McCarthy. Also, if you get a bit nostalgia for the college life back home you can always go see Neighbors 2: Rising Sorority and vicariously experience the party side of college life through Selena Gomez and Zac Efron.

Horror:

The Conjuring 2: The End Field Experiment –June 10

The Purge: Election Year –July 1

Looking for a good scare? There are going to be a couple of options for you this summer. The Conjuring is back scaring the bejesus out people with possessed children. Want to be scared on larger scale? The Purge series is capitalizing on the upcoming presidential race and portraying a dark twist alternate society.
