Karley Betzler has worked for The Racquet Press for six semesters. The end of this semester concludes Betzler’s final semester as Executive Editor.

“My major is Communication Studies with an emphasis in Media Studies and I have a minor in Professional and Technical Writing. That’s a really great question. When I couldn’t find inspiration within myself, I turned to my close friends, professors, books, cats, The Racquet, podcasts, therapy. Basically, anything that could help fill me up again. I had to be refilled a lot throughout my time at UWL. I struggled with a lot of mental health issues and am so thankful for everyone who has been a part of my support system. I’m also very thankful for my time at The Racquet Press. I saw the potential for what the free press at UWL could be when I was a freshman and I worked so hard to better journalism at this university. My hope is that it continues and more people support student journalists, that’s why I’m wearing this pin today. I’m not too worried, though, you’re in good hands,” said Betzler. #humansofuwl
