The Bryce Thomaschefsky Band is a La Crosse-based country, folk and rock cover group that has been picking up steam in the La Crosse music scene over the past couple of years. With energetic performances and talented musicians, the band has become a staple in the local music scene.
The band, led by Bryce Thomaschefsky, first came together in late December 2023. The group’s origins started out casual with meetings primarily dedicated to playing together and experimenting.
“It originally was just a great opportunity to jam and try to get some different sounds on the songs I had performed during solo shows,” Thomaschefsky said.
Since then, the group has gone through several changes. In early 2024, new members joined on bass and additional instruments, while others stepped away to pursue opportunities in professional music. Even through the changes, the band has stayed together and continues to grow.
The band currently consists of Bryce Thomaschefsky on vocals and guitar, Erik Jorgenson on guitar, Samuel Baudek on bass and Clark Lundquist on drums.
As the group grew, their approach to music selection became more intentional.
“We try our best to craft our setlists to fit an honest and fun representation of each of our musical influences, as well as songs that keep the crowd engaged and entertained the whole evening,” Thomaschefsky said.
Their focus on the audience has become essential to their performances, especially when balancing staying true to the original songs while still adding their own sound.
“It’s a good mix of both adding your own flare and making the crowd feel the energy that the song was meant to convey,” he said.
One of the band’s most memorable moments was in 2024, when they performed at Country Boom.
“We were invited to play the main stage and open up for Ella Langley, Priscilla Block, Rodney Atkins and Riley Green,” Thomaschefsky said. “Such a great show with lots of support from our friends and families.”
As music continues to be a part of the nightlife in La Crosse, the Bryce Thomaschefsky Band is optimistic about its future. While performing locally will remain a focus, the group is also working on developing original music.
“This next year is going to be a fun one,” Thomaschefsky said. “We have a lot of great shows lined up and are focusing on quality over quantity while starting to work out some original music.”
Upcoming performances for the band include Between the Bluffs Beverages & Bites Festival in La Crosse on April 25, Moxies in La Crosse on May 23, Alpine Inn in La Crosse on June 6 and Stadium View Bar in Green Bay, Wis., on June 19.
